Jierong has more than 20 years of experience in artificial intelligence, computer vision, and applied machine learning research and development. Prior to joining NUS‑ISS, she served as Principal Scientist at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I²R), A*STAR, where she led advanced R&D in visual intelligence and AI‑driven inspection systems. In this role, she spearheaded multiple government and industry funded projects focused on deep learning, image analysis, and intelligent inspection solutions across manufacturing, forensic imaging, and industrial applications.
Before joining A*STAR, she began her research career at Nanyang Technological University, working on bioimaging and signal processing in the areas of image segmentation and computational imaging. Her work has resulted in numerous journal publications, patents, and technology disclosures in the fields of computer vision and intelligent inspection systems.
